$250.00 Neiman-Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies

Someone I know learned an expensive lesson regarding this recipe.  While having lunch at Neiman-Marcus in Dallas Texas, she inquired and purchased their famous cookie recipe.  The waitress said it was two fifty.  When her VISA statement was received, it was not the two dollars and fifty cents she thought it would be – it was TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS!

She now shares the recipe with everyone she can, for free. And now, I'll share it with you--  Here goes!

NEIMAN MARCUS Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 Cups Butter
2 Cups Sugar
2 Cups Brown Sugar
4 Eggs
2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
4 Cups Flour
5 Cups Blended Oatmeal*
1 Teaspoon Salt
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
4 Ounces Chocolate Chips
1-8 ounce Hershey Bar (Grated)
3 Cups Chopped Walnuts

Cream the butter and both sugars, eggs and vanilla.  Mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and soda.  Add chocolate chips, Hershey bar and nuts.

Roll into balls and place two inches apart on cookie sheet.  Bake for 6 minutes at 375 Degrees.  Makes 75 cookies.  Recipe may be halved, or bigger balls rolled for a larger cookie.

*Blended Oatmeal is Oatmeal that is turned into a “powder” by placing it into a Blender or your Food Processor.  Remember to measure the blended product for the recipe and not the un-processed oats !!
